National Recognised Training for Certificate III in Tourism

A blended-delivery model is used where students have access to a range of educational modes including:

  • virtual classroom software that houses the eLearning content for the units of competency.  This will be either through an external eLearning program – “Catapult”, or via our own Student Management System – “aXcelerate”.
  • assessment activities will be completed through either one or both of these platforms,
  • remote learning with a fortnightly login to a Teams meeting for trainer interaction, presentation on a chosen topic, student queries to assist with their learning and assessments,
  • practical placement and assessment activities and projects to be completed under supervision with a variety of evidence provided to the qualified assessor for them to make the competency decision/

Enrolment: Students will be required to provide their Unique Student Identifier prior to the commencement of the course.

Students will also need to complete a “Pre-Training Review” which includes a LL & N and Support Needs assessment prior to enrolment in the course. This review will assist our training team in determining the suitability to the course for the student and help identify any learning support needs they may have.

Online theory: As the eLearning of the course is delivered in an online eLearning platform and the fortnightly meetings with the trainer are delivered in a virtual classroom environment, students are required to have a computer or laptop that is fitted with a video conferencing camera, microphone and a reliable internet connection.

Practical placement: Practical Placement is structured workplace attendance. It is a compulsory part of the course and is designed to help the student better understand what they have learnt by putting it into practice in the workplace. Students are required to attend a 6 day practical component at one of our training properties. Details are finalised with the student, trainer and property management.

Some students may find the physical aspects of the practical training strenuous and will be asked to discuss any injuries or physical limitations with Belgravia Academy staff prior to enrolment and/or attendance at the practical placement. If an issue is identified, reasonable adjustments may be available – such as flexible scheduling or support with work tasks. Any reasonable adjustment will need to be justifiable and must uphold the integrity of the qualification.

Appropriate comfortable clothing is required at the practical sessions due to the nature of the activities being undertaken.
