The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course equips participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to sell, serve, or supply alcohol in a safe and responsible manner in Victoria. This nationally recognised training meets the competency requirements for SITHFAB021 – Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol.
The course covers key RSA principles, including assessing intoxication levels, recognising at-risk customers, and implementing harm minimisation strategies. Participants will learn how to refuse service professionally, de-escalate conflict, and promote responsible alcohol consumption in various hospitality and retail settings. This training applies to a range of roles, including bartenders, wait staff, liquor store attendants, winery and brewery employees, security personnel, and venue managers.
In Victoria, you need an RSA Certificate of Completion to work in many licensed venues. To receive your RSA Certificate of Completion, you must complete the following:
• A Liquor Control Victoria-approved RSA course, which can be delivered online by Belgravia Academy.
• Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent and Respond. This is an additional module delivered online by Liquor Control Victoria (LCV).

Course Information
This is a remote, self-paced e-learning course that allows you to work through the modules at your own pace. To complete the course, you must successfully submit the following assessments:
- Knowledge Questions – Respond to multiple-choice and short-answer questions.
- Written Responses – Provide detailed answers based on specific scenarios.
- Video Submissions – Record and submit short videos demonstrating required skills.
To enrol, students must provide their Unique Student Identifier (USI) and email address. As this is a remote eLearning course, students need a computer or laptop with audio, video, and a reliable internet connection.
