Overview
This CPR course covers the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. Students learn the theory and techniques behind the acronym DRSABCD, including CPR, and using a defibrillation machine.
It is recommended this CPR course is completed annually to ensure you retain the skills and knowledge needed to perform CPR. At the end of the course and after the successful completion of online learning, you will be provided a CPR Certificate.

Course Information
CPR Course

HLTAID009: Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
We enrol you into an online program where you complete a theory component of the course, learning the important points of CPR. This program takes around 3 hours to complete. Once completed you attend an onsite training course at one of our Belgravia venues, spending an hour refreshing your knowledge before you are assessed in how to perform CPR as per the requirements of the unit of competency. Allow 2 hours for the face-to-face training.
Student Resources
You will need to be able to access the internet on a computer or portable device for the online theory. There are no pre-requisites for this course, but you will need to be physically capable of performing CPR for at least 2 minutes on a manikin placed on the floor. Ensure you wear appropriate clothing for this demonstration.
