Overview
These units are an extension of the standard swim teacher course and are for those wishing to instruct participants with additional support requirements including as a disability swimming teacher.
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills, and knowledge required to identify the needs of participants with disabilities, assist them to safely enter and exit the water, and provide support during aquatic activities suited to participant needs and preferences.

SISCAQU028 – Assist participants with a disability during aquatic activities
We will register you for an online program that includes a theory component focused on essential aspects of swim teaching. Allocate 5-10 hours for this phase of your training. After successfully finishing the online component, you will participate in an in-person training session held at a Belgravia facility conveniently located near you.
During this session, you will enhance your understanding and acquire practical experience through simulations before undergoing competency assessments. Subsequently, you will be required to complete practical tasks at an aquatic venue following the course. To assist you in completing the accreditation process, a Course Checklist will be provided to ensure you receive the necessary support.
