Nationally Recognised Training Program for Food Handling Certificate

This course includes online lessons. These are delivered via a webinar and in written format, followed by Knowledge Checks to confirm the student’s understanding of the information covered.

Students must complete a Case Study. This requires the student to read a short food safety scenario and answer questions.

The final component of the course is an Observation Task Assessment. This requires the student to successfully demonstrate various food safety tasks in the workplace, under the observation of a co-worker who is a qualified Food Handler or Food Safety Supervisor.

Student Resources

Students will be required to provide their Unique Student Identifier for enrolment as well as their email address, which is required for them to be able to access our systems.

As the course is delivered online via webinars and eLearning, students are required to have a computer or laptop and a reliable internet connection. The course is accessible on most computers, laptops and tablet devices. However, due to the small screen size, we don’t recommend completing the course on a mobile phone.

We use some of the latest eLearning technologies to deliver the courses. You will need to have a modern web browser to view and complete the course requirements.

To complete the practical requirements for the course, students will need access to a food business in which they can apply food safety practices and be observed by a co-worker or supervisor who is a qualified Food Handler or Food Safety Supervisor. They will need to provide the contact of the observer.
